Brand Identity-The Umoja Way

I collaborated with The Umoja Way to realize this Brand Identity project for their brand. In addition, I helped them to prepare a brand guideline book. You may find sample pages from the brand guideline book below.

Mood board that Inspired the Project:

After the client responded to the questionnaire I initially sent to them, I began by creating different mood board and Mood board 3 was chosen. At this point, I understood their brand and how they wanted their brand to be perceived.

Typography / Colour Palette

Here you find the brand colours I deduced from the Moodboard 3. The dark coffee Brown which psychologically signifies the “EARTH” has been used to symbolize Unity and Root. Adding meaning to the brand name “The Umoja Way”

I presented about 10 Typography suggestions and Urbanist was chosen by the client as their preferred typeface. In addition, I created a colour mix to ease the use of choosing colours for the brand. By doing so, I tried not to deviate from the brand’s original colours. To learn more about the brand core values kindly view the the colour psychology page below.

Logo

The brand has as its core values Diversity, Inclusion, Unity and encouragement. Coming up with a simple and clean logo that clearly outline their values was part of my mission. You may find below the final presentation of the logos that were chosen.

Picture Manner

These are the brand picture manner. To keep it distinct from its logo geometrical shapes which is a circle, I suggested squares/rectangles that have rounded edges.

Mock Ups / Merch

Future merch, food bags, purse and public stands may look like this. Attached is a website design in it simplest form.
